Which Will You Choose?

Firefly Creek is written to give you options.

The pattern includes instructions for both a Petite shawlette and a full-size shawl, giving you room to choose how the project unfolds. Whether you opt for one skein or two, the design stays the same—only the journey changes.

An Easy Rhythm, With a Little Surprise

At its heart, the Firefly Creek pattern is built on simple garter stitch—easy to memorize, relaxing to knit, and perfect for settling into a steady flow. It’s the kind of rhythm you can enjoy without keeping your eyes glued to the pattern.

As you knit, the contrast color in the yarn naturally appears. When it does, you’ll work a simple special stitch that lets those pops of color shine. No counting, no charts—just a small, satisfying moment of interaction that adds texture and interest as the shawl grows.

Here’s what to expect when you preorder Firefly Creek

  • Your choice of yarn — select a single colorway with one or two skeins, or collect all three colorways with The Whole Garden option
  • The Firefly Creek shawl pattern, emailed in mid-April, with instructions for both the Petite shawlette and the full-size shawl
  • A 2026 Firefly Creek enamel pin, created to commemorate this year’s knit-along
  • Yarn and pin shipped mid-April, giving you time to get settled before we begin
  • An email invitation to the private Facebook knit-along group sent mid-April, with all the details you need to participate

We’ll officially cast on together starting May 1st, but you’re always welcome to knit at your own pace. Join in as much—or as little—as you like.
