  • Magician's Shortie Socks
    Quick shop

Digital download of the pattern only. No physical items will be mailed.

    Pattern Details:

Magic tricks are fun and engaging, just like this shortie sock pattern! And a magician’s best trick is keeping you guessing ‘how did they do it?’ This fun lace design is worked over an easy to memorize 4-row repeat that may appear complicated to the untrained eye, but really isn’t, and will result in a fast knit that is sure to impress.

This is my personal shortie sock recipe that fits my US size 7 foot and should also fit women’s US sizes 6.5 – 8. The knitter should have a basic understanding of sock construction, as you may need to cast on more or less sts than what is called for in pattern to fit smaller or larger sizes.

    What you’ll need:

Yarn - approx 30 grams fingering weight yarn in main color and approximately 15 grams of contrasting color for heels and toes.

Yarn used in pattern photos is from Hypnotic Yarn’s Magician Collection in colorway Abracadabra.

Needles: US size 1 2.25mm (or size to obtain gauge) 9-inch circulars, or long circular for magic loop – I suggest 32 – 40 inch cord, if using magic loop method, and an extra set of long circular needles in same size, or DPN’s, for heel and toe decreases,

Note: Though DPN’s may certainly be used, this pattern does NOT give instructions for how to arrange sts across multiple needles. Instructions are for 9-inch circulars and magic loop method

Additional materials: stitch marker, tapestry needle, length of waste yarn in same weight used for sock – about 3 – 5 yards.

  • Espresso Shot Shortie Socks
    Quick shop

Digital download of the pattern only. No physical items will be mailed.

    Pattern Details:

Shortie socks are to sock knitters what espresso is to caffeine seekers – instant gratification! Okay, so maybe they’re not instant, but they sure are fast, fun, and gratifying! This simple vanilla shortie sock is designed to knit up quickly, while letting that special hand-dyed colorway (you know, that one you’ve been hoarding) shine!

This a plain vanilla ankle sock with my version of an afterthought heel.

This is my personal shortie sock recipe that fits my size 7 foot. It should also fit a women’s sizes 6.5 – 8. I tried to make the pattern as clear as possible for first time sock knitters, but having a basic understanding of sock construction will be helpful. Pattern is written for 9 inch circulars and magic loop method for heel and toe drecreases and does NOT give instructions for DPN’s.

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Yarn: approximately 30 grams fingering weight yarn in main color and approximately 15 grams of contrasting color for heels and toes.

Needles: US size 1 2.25mm (or size to obtain gauge) 9 inch circulars, or long circular for magic loop – I suggest 32 – 40 inch cord, if using magic loop method.
