May yARNaLBE Sweet Pea Hat

The May yARNaBLe box included a beautiful light pink yarn with a few speckles making it a perfect to emphasize and show off pattern design.  Annndddd it just so happens one of the extra goodies in the box is a hat pattern!

The Sweet Pea hat by Dana Rae Makes is written for fingering weight AND DK weight yarns.  So no matter which weight you receive in your subscription box, you are covered! However, if you receive fingering weight but would prefer the DK pattern option you can hold your fingering weight skein double (just pull from both ends at the same time) to equal DK.  I do this ALL THE TIME and is one of my favorite ways to knit a hat.

I knit the fingering weight option to have a lighter weight hat since most of my hand knit hats were knit with heavier yarn.  Despite the fancy appearance, this hat is definitely beginner friendly. The 6 round repeat is very easy to memorize and it knits fast-evening in fingering weight.
